The Memories That Still Call My Name

Nostalgia poetry about old memories and people who remain in our hearts.

Everlasting Memories. They hum softly in the heart's quiet places, waiting for that long-lost song, that vintage picture, that lonely night to summon them forth.
I thought time would make them fade,
Like footprints washed away by rain.
But every night, when all is still,
Your memories come back again.
Yearn for the times we could spend together,
The little talks, the midnight air.
The silly jokes, the endless smiles,
The moments that could last for miles.
An old song plays, and suddenly,
I'm somewhere in our history.
A place where everything felt right,
Where dreams were young, and hearts were light.
I go down the roads we were so familiar with,
And feel a thousand memories grow.
These walls have broken down, the trees are high,
But somehow I still feel at home.
I wish I could return one day,
To all that passed us by.
Not to change the way things end,
But to feel those moments once again.
Some people leave, some seasons go,
And so the world turns. As we all know.
But certain memories never depart,
They build a home inside the heart.
And if tomorrow asks me why,
I sometimes smile and sometimes cry,
I'll say some moments never fade,
They're beautiful memories time has made.
"Some of the past may be dead but will never leave our hearts"
