Letters I Will Never Send
I wrote your name until the ink bled through,
hoping paper could bear
what my chest could not.
Every draft ends the same way:
with an apology for loving you
in a manner that frightened the quiet.
Now the drawer is full of ghosts,
neatly stacked, unaddressed,
sleeping in the dark
where your voice used to dwell.
